The Sindh government has been considering the cancellation of driving licenses over the violation of the standard operating procedures. These SOPs have been devised for containing the spread of COVID-19.
Owais Qadir Shah of the provincial ministry for transport revealed that the authorities are receiving complaints about the traffic police department on duty. This violation has lead to pause on the decision of resuming public transport. The decision will be taken after June 15.
The regional transport authorities have come up with a suggestion that the SOP violations can be solved through canceling driving licenses. The police department has also been involved in allowing the inter-city buses in few areas.
The public transport will be closed across the province Sindh since the number of cases has been surging.
The public transport was resumed in Karachi on June 3 under the SOPs after a long suspension of 2 months. However, the city is in a hustle and bustle right now. The rule of social distancing is violated.
