A Goal of 500,000 Covid-19 Vaccine Doses Per Day Attained By Pakistan

Pakistan has accomplished the goal of 500,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses per day, stated by Planning Minister Asad Umar on Tuesday.

The country attained the target on Monday, said Umar, head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on coronavirus.

According to the minister, the pace will be increased further.

On Monday, PM’s assistant on health Dr. Faisal Sultan stated that vaccination is the only cure to protect the population from the deadly virus.

Last week, the NCOC has issued the warning that the early signs of the fourth wave of coronavirus wave had started showing.

“Two weeks ago, I wrote on Twitter that according to our artificial intelligence (AI) models, there is a possible emergence of a fourth wave,” he said. “Now clear early signs are showing starting of the fourth wave.”

According to the NCOC chief, the spread of variants, including the Delta variant, and poor SOP compliance, are the main reasons behind the rise in coronavirus infections.
