Alcohol Test Now Mandatory For PIA Cabin Crew
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has made it mandatory for its cabin crews to undergo an alcohol test. This will be done through a medical checkup with a breath analyzer that can detect the alcohol particles.
The PIA directives propose that cabin crew are to take this test on all the flights. A surgeon, a medical officer, or a ground staff supervised by the flight surgeon will carry out the test.
The national carrier has asked for the cooperation of the team saying, “All operating cabin crew is required to undergo the test before operating flight on must basis.”
This test will help in avoiding the use of alcohol during the flight operation according to national flag carrier authorities. This will come into force on an immediate basis.
It is important to mention here that Ghulam Muhammad Sarwar Chandio, a flight attendant tested positive for alcohol. The spokesperson has informed that authorities have noticed his actions and action will be taken against him.
