Apple Has Resumed Development of AirPower Charging Mat!?

Apple started working on development of Airpower in 2017 but has canceled it a year ago. But, there are rumours that apple resumes the development of Airpower wireless charging mat. The news was leaked by Founder of Front Page Tech, Jon Prosser on Twitter, however, there is no news about when the company will make the final release.

The vision Apple presented back then was of a wireless charging pad that would let users charge their iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods simultaneously on a single pad. The AirPower mat would sync their charging status so you would be able to see just how much all the devices had charged on the iPhone.

Apple have however faced a lot of challenges in the development of the wireless mat. It is said that AirPower mat does not match the standards of the company due to which it cancelled the development of the product. Leaks suggest that none of the prototypes of the product supports apple watch.

The design structure of the wireless charging mat shows that there is a large number of coils used within the mat. This overlapping design of the charging coil will heat up the product too much making it hurdle.

Noticeably, this is not the first time that such rumors are in the air in fact few months ago, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forecasted about it as well. He said that one of Apple’s major new hardware products in the first half of 2020 would include a “smaller wireless charging mat,”
