March 15 To Be Observed As The Day Of Combatting Islamophobia.

With the world progressing at a rapid rate, and seeing biases and prejudices being sidelined, it is very heartbreaking to see the increasing hatred towards Islam and Muslims. Islamophobia, is a serious issue, because the sentiments of Muslims are literally crushed under the most hurtful and offensive things said about their religion. Many defend this hatred towards Islam, with having the freedom of expression and how everyone has the right to hold a stance regardless of what it is. However, that is no justification, since you can not threaten individuals and discriminate against them just on the basis of countless presumptions that you personally have. Speaking of the rising islamophobia, it was heart warming to see some of the key leaders have the courage to speak against it.

Justin Trudeau is reported to have said: “Islamophobia is not acceptable at any cost and vowed to make his country safer for Muslims.”

In addition to this, Putin, Russia’s leader also said that insulting the Prophet PBUH was not freedom of expression, which was praised by the entire islamic community, globally.

What’s beyond heartening to see is, how the efforts of Organization of islamic cooperation, after a move presented by Pakistan to observe march 15 as the day of combatting Islamophobia, has been upheld and bore fruit. United Nations, containing 193-member states, has accepted a milestone resolution presented by Pakistan, on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), titling 15 March as "International Day to Combat Islamophobia". Finally, after years of almost no representation and acknowledgment of the struggles of Muslims, this achievement is a sigh of relief for the Muslim Ummah.

It’s a moment of pride for Pakistanis, as it is the nation who presented this move, and of course, our Prime Minister Imran Khan who has the courage to speak without any fear, in the favor of Islam, Allah and our Prophet (PBUH) Khatim-un-Nabiyyin.
