According to a statement issued by the media, the mobile application will make it convenient for residents to apply for the National ID Card using the Pak-ID portal.
The mobile application will be able to record biometrics such as fingerprints and face recognition, as well as scan papers required for the processing of residents’ ID cards and paperwork. The app will allow all citizens, including ex-pats to digitally capture fingerprints, photographs, and documents. The app is a step towards ending conventional modes of specialized equipment and physical papers for processing IDs.
Prime Minister of Pakistan appreciated Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik’s innovative idea of the mobile app and said that this app is a step towards implementing the PM’s vision of inclusive registration and a digital Pakistan, the press release added.

NADRA Chairman Malik Tariq said, “The innovation will revolutionize the National ID eco-system in Pakistan by providing the public convenience."
He said that The app will also open new avenues for businesses allowing them to rapidly take users onboard and provide password-less authentication.
Small companies, startups, and fintech organizations will also be able to harvest their digital dividends, as rent-seekers will be eliminated and the cost of conducting business will reduce.
The NADRA mobile app can be downloaded for Android on the Google Play Store and for iOS on the Apple Store.
