NZ Beats Pak By An Innings And 176 Runs At Christchurch

New Zealand crushed Pakistan by an innings and 176 runs in the second test match at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

New Zealand made it short for the Pakistani team by bowling them out for 186 runs in their second innings on Wednesday.

Pakistan resumed the day at day four of the test match at eight for one. Shortly after the start of the play, Boult sent the night watchman, Muhammad Abbass back to the pavilion on three. Since then it was all Jamieson for New Zealand and Pakistani batsman losing their wickets to him cheaply.

The 6 ft 8in tall Jamieson claimed three out of four fallen wickets after lunch as Pakistan wrapped the session at 134 for seven still trailed by 228 runs.

Jamieson out bowled Shan Masood, abid Ali, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail, Muhammad Rizwan, Faheem Ashraf for 0, 26, 37, 15, 10, 28 runs respectively.

Jamieson took a total of 11 wickets in the test match becoming the first bowler to get more than 10 test wickets at Hagley Oval.

Shan Masood was unable to perform throughout the tour despite been given all the chances. Haris Sohail failed to improvise footwork and throws his wickets even on loose balls. Except for single individual performances from Faheem Ashraf and Fawad Alam, there was nothing positive from the batting part of the team.

While bowlers have also created some unwanted records in this series. They have conceded three 300+ runs partnerships in the last nine matches. The score of 659 was the fourth-highest innings score, scored against Pakistani bowlers in history.

The series overall was a disappointment for the fans as the loopholes in the management can be identified even by amateurs. From poor team selection to poor management leading to injuries all points to the need for sensible, daring, and more competent management and selection committee for a better future of Pakistan.
