Pakistan Reports Lowest Daily Death Toll Amid Third Wave of Coronavirus
Pakistan reported 20 new fatalities from coronavirus Monday morning, the lowest number of coronavirus deaths in a single day since the third wave began.
The deaths from the virus in the country have been gradually declining as it continues battling with the third wave of the pandemic.
On Monday, 20 deaths are reported from the virus which is the lowest in four months. Earlier, Pakistan last reported 16 deaths in a day from the virus on February 21 amid the third wave.
As per the latest COVID-19 statistics by NCOC (National Command and Operation Center), 44,496 coronavirus tests were conducted across Pakistan during the last 24 hours, from which 914 people tested positive.
At present, the country's positivity rate stands at 2.5%.
In the country, till now, the total number of cases has reached 955,657, whereas the total number of COVID-19 deaths so far has touched 22,231 while 91,201 people have recovered from the virus. The active number of cases is 32,225 presently.
In the last 24 hours, the provinces where the most deaths occurred are Punjab and Sindh followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Of the 20 deaths during the last 24 hours, 11 died on ventilators.
