Pakistan’s 162 healthcare workers die fighting COVID-19

A total of 16,519 healthcare workers have been infected while battling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, reported on Thursday.

As per the sources at the Ministry of National Health, till now 9,870 doctors, 2,355 nurses and 4,294 other staff of hospitals have caught the coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry sources, while fighting the deadly outbreak of COVID-19 in Pakistan, 162 healthcare workers have died.

Total 16,046 medical workers have recovered from the virus whereas 297 are in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 at homes and 14 are undergoing treatment at hospitals, stated the ministry’s sources.

The COVID-19 positivity ratio in Pakistan has dropped to 1.9 percent in the last 24 hours.

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 39 more people have died due to corona, lifting the nationwide fatalities to 21,913.The country’s caseload climbed to 9,46,227 after 1,043 more people tested positive for the deadly virus for 24 hours.
