Pakistan Cricket board suspends Umar Akmal on Thursday. The mid-order batsman was suspended with immediate effect under Article 4.7.1 of the PCB Anti-Corruption Code.
The player is forbidden to take part in any cricket-related activities as long as the investigation is carried on by PCB’s Anti-Corruption Unit.
Umar Akmal was all set to take part in Pakistan Super League under franchise Quetta Gladiators, the team will play its first match and the leagues’ opening match on Thursday against Islamabad United. However, the team has announced that it will apply for the replacement of Akmal.
