Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Pakistan’s First National Science and Technolgy Park (NSTP) located at the National Unversity of Science & Technology (NUST), Islamabad on Monday.
NSTP is so far the largest innovations research ecosystem in the country. This technology park will be able to accommodate 40 companies which will include Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as reported by Radio Pakistan
A ceremony was held for the inauguration of NSTP. The Prime Minister in the ceremony urged the youth to seek greatness and avoid demoralizing themselves because of few hurdles.
He said, ” “Always follow your heart because therein lies passion to achieve greatness.” He further added, ” You should not be disheartened by any setback you face in life as setbacks alone cannot defeat you.”
He also stressed on equipping the youth with the latest technology so that they can take advantage of the available opportunities.
He also mentioned the appointment of Fawad Chaudhry as the minister of science and technology a good move.
He also said that the science and technology park will be a catalyst for the new innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
NUST being the leading engineering university is the most suitable host for NSTP since it has the most advanced ecosystem in order to support technology transfer and innovative startups.
There are eight pillars of NSTP will include agriculture technology, automobile technology, education technology, energy technology, defense technology, finance technology, health technology and smart technology.
