Tourists Prohibited In Kaghan Valley Amid Corona Pandemic

The District administration of Mansehra has prohibited tourists in scenic locations of the district. “I have implemented a total ban on the tourists travelling to Kaghan valley and no business activities related to Chand Raat are allowed anywhere in the district,” stated Dr. Qasim Ali Khan, the deputy commissioner, on Wednesday.

According to him, although all business activities except health facilities, medicinal stores, and essential commodities would remain suspended from May 8 to May 16, some additional precautionary measures were also decided so that people remain away from festivities.

“Any kind of shopping on Chand Raat is strictly prohibited anywhere in the district and violators would directly be sent to jail,” stated Dr. Qasim. District Police Officer Asif Bahadur also updated the reporters that police and district administration would work together to ensure strict implementation of SOPs.

“In addition, police have been en route to Kaghan valley, Shogran and other such places, and tourists attempting to enter these areas would be taken to justice under strict relevant laws,” he elaborated.
