Google CEO Sundar Pichai Takes Over Parent Alphabet Inc.

Larry Page stepping down as the CEO of Alphabet Inc and Google CEO Sundar Pichai takes control. However, as reported by Alphabet Inc. Larry Page and Sergey Brin would still be serving as Directors. It is noticeable that Page and Brin co-founded the company 21 years ago and now they are being replaced by Mr. Pichai. The active CEO expressed his excitement for the role.

The company takes the decision amidst the tensions Google is facing due to its data security problems. Regulators and politicians in the US and Europe have questioned the company’s size, data privacy practices and potential impact on society. 

Furthermore, Employees claim that google suppresses its employees and critics. In addition to that, Google has also dismissed its number of employees on grounds of violating data-security policies. Larry and Brin announced name Mr. Pichai the CEO in founders letter on Tuesday saying:

We’ve never been ones to hold on to management roles when we think there’s a better way to run the company. And Alphabet and Google no longer need two CEOs and a President. Going forward, Sundar will be the CEO of both Google and Alphabet.

Larry and Brin further added: 

While it has been a tremendous privilege to be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the company for so long, we believe it’s time to assume the role of proud parents—offering advice and love, but not daily nagging!

However, Brin and Page are stepping down but still, they will be taking part as board members. Also, they will be staying in regular contact with the existing CEO.
