The unveiling of Oscars nomination is always a treat for movie junkies. The year 2020 is exciting since history is being made by many nominations

Joker got 11 nominations more than Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, 1917 and The Irishman.

Scarlet Johanson made history by gaining two nominations in the same night. She is nominated for Best Actress for the movie “Marriage Story” and best-supporting actress for   Jojo Rabbit.

Saoirse Ronan makes history by becoming the second-youngest actress to land four nominations at the age of 25. Previously, Jennifer Lawrence had four nominations at the age of 25.

Movies have also landed double nominations. South Korean film Parasite has been nominated for Best Picture and Best Foreign-Language Picture. This is the sixth non-English film to land double nominations. However, none of them was ever nominated for the best film.

Netflix also has a breakthrough in 24 oscar nominations. It has been spending billions to make it to top movie making companies for a long time now.

Jenifer Lopez and Rober De Niro did not make it to the nomination. Many speculated that these two names have a chance of winning nomination. Lopez gave a very strong performance in The Hustlers and De Niro was expected to be nominated for the Irishman.
