Ghulam Sarwar Khan, the Minister of Aviation on Wednesday informed that it has been decided to resume a limited number of domestic flights. He says that suspension of flight operations will end on Thursday Midnight.
However, the final decision is still pending and will be taken in a meeting of the National Coordination Committee headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He shows hopes that the prime minister will allow resuming flights.
Furthermore, the minister informed that the issue of resuming domestic flights was discussed in detail at a top-level meeting held in Islamabad on Wednesday. Chief ministers of the four provinces, officials of the National Disaster Management Authority, health department, and Gilgit-Baltistan were present in the meeting.
As per the initial plan of aviation division and PIA domestic flights to and from four main airports (Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Quetta) will be operated.
