5G Technology: Is Apple Losing the Race?

Apple released its 2020 first-quarter earnings report on Tuesday afternoon in an event. The CEO of Apple Inc. Tim Cook faced media and analysts on the occasion. During question answers session the company’s CEO was asked about the launch of 5G wireless networking technology for which Mr. Cook replied

“With respect to 5G, we’re in the early innings of its deployment on a global basis,” Apple CEO

While other companies like Samsung, Huawei, and Motorolla have already launched the 5G phones last year. Apple is still working on its deployment makes Apple fall far behind in the competition.

Despite the fact that Apple is nowhere in the race, still, the company recorded a 9% boost in revenue in the first-quarter report. Apple’s iPhone revenue also returned to growth following four consecutive quarters of year-over-year declines. Apple CEO Tim Cook said the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro drove a lot of the growth and called them “the strongest iPhone lineup we’ve ever had.”

It was however rumoured that Apple will launch 5G phones in September or October but the company’s CEO did not give any clear clue about the launch.
