The slogan “Meri Jism Meri Marzi” was rejected by National Assembly on the grounds of being immoral. The National Assembly On Information and Broadcasting directed all the media channels for NOT running the slogan. For this, they asked PEMRA to take legal action against the slogan.
However, the slogan became the talk of the town and many social workers raged against the government to promote the slogans. Many were of the view that there was nothing wrong with the slogan and many thought that it was decent.
The birth of the other slogan “Meri Zubaan Meri Marzi” took place in a local TV talk show at NEO TV. The show invited well-acknowledged writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar and Marvi Sermed. The slogan was being discussed in the show which resulted in an uncomfortable fight between the two guests.
Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar ended up swearing at Marvi Sermed while she was defending the slogan. This stirred up a new wave on social media since Khalil Ur Rehman is one of the most loved and respected writers. On the other hand, Marvi Sermed happens to be a controversial yet famous representative for the Aurat March.
There is a confusion on the social media since two slogans are being promoted. Many have teamed up with Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar and many support Marvi Sermed.
Many openly talked Qamar being banned.
Many supported him logically.
