PM’s New Priority: Building Tourism Sector

Special Assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfi Bukhari has revealed that building tourism sector has become Imran Khan’s priority.

This was shared in the virtual session of tourism of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states. Other countries including India, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were also a part of this session as reported by ARY News.

The meet discussed an action plan for revival of tourism at an international level in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and challenges faced by the member states’ tourism industry.

Zulfi Bukhari also shared that PTI government has a special 10-year policy for the promotion of an environment-friendly and stable tourism sector. The plan to implement this policy is also in the process but is being delayed because of the pandemic.

He also suggested to exchange information among the member states.

The meeting approved a joint action plan for the Tourism Cooperation Plan 2020-2021
