Renault, the French auto giant, is planning to cut 15000 jobs worldwide. This is being done in order to cost cut 2 billion Euros over three years. This includes 46000 jobs in France only.
AFP reported that the plan was shared with the unions of the company yesterday (Thursday) evening. However, the plan will be shared formally today (Friday).
The job cuts will be made through the voluntary departure and internal mobility.
The company has been facing serious issues because of the COVID-19 pandemic as the production capacity has decreased from four million to around 3.3 million.
