Punjab Government has introduced a new ordinance to control smuggling and stocking the daily essentials. More so, the hoarder will be punised for the action.
Not only the hoarder will be fined, but he will also be sentenced three years guilty and a serving time in jail.
The items received from the hoarders will be auctioned according to the ordinance. Deputy commissioner will be authorized to check the stock of the items.
President Dr Arif Alvi has already publicized an ordinance in the attempt of controlling the hoarding activities in the country.
There are 32 items listed in the hoarding list and according to the law, the hoarder of those items “shall be guilty of an offence punishable with simple imprisonment up to three (3) years and fine equivalent to 50 per cent of the value of the scheduled articles involved in the case.”
