Good News: Foreign Remittances, Even More, Cheaper With Pakistan Post Office Service

Pakistan Remittance Initiative has made the foreign remittance to Pakistan very cheap.  

The Pakistan Post stated,” Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI).“Pakistan Post Office Department (PPOD) has entered in an arrangement with National Bank of Pakistan under the umbrella of Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI). Now Remittance Beneficiaries’ can collect their remittance payments sent from abroad using NBP Remittance Services from the Pakistan Post Office locations free of charge.”

There is a total of 500 locations of Pakitan Post from where the remittance can be collected without paying any charges. All the beneficiary has to do is provide original CNIC of the beneficiary, PIN Code, name of the beneficiary and remitter, and the expected amount.

Customers can also send their remittances through Pakistan Post’s selected branches by visiting National Bank correspondents and request a cash transaction.

A secret code/PIN will be provided to the remitter by the booking agent. This information has to be shared with the customer with the amount sent. The amount above US$200 can be sent free of any charges and can be collected from any Pakistan Post Office or National Bank of Pakistan. Here is a list of partners around the world:

It was indicated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan that people sending the money will be rewarded through a proper channel. The ambassadors were directed to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis.
