One duck can eat more than 200 locusts in a day which can be more effective than pesticides. However, many experts have raised the question of whether this is going to be effective.
The team of experts from China is being sent to Pakistan to identify and develop ‘targeted programs’.
A trial will first take place in China’s western province Xinjiang. Later, they will be sent to Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab. Many have questioned whether the environment will be safe for ducks or not.
The use of ducks against locusts has been there for ages but it is going to be practiced for the first time at a massive level. Previously, China has used 30,000 ducks to tackle the locusts infestation.
