Usual Traffic On All Major Roads Across Pakistan: Fawad Chaudhry
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday issued a strict warning to protesters who hit the police officers as according to him, traffic is normal on all important roads across Pakistan.
Protests by the banned TLP have resulted in huge problems in major cities across the country for the past two days and have taken the lives of three people, including two policemen. Almost 100 policemen have also been injured in clashes with the protesters.
In a tweet, Fawad Chaudhry stated that police and security institutions are the honour of the country, adding that across the world, those who dressed in the uniform are considered as symbols of the state's pride. "To defend their respect is the responsibility of each citizen," he said. He further mentioned that those who insulted police officers and security officials are "national criminals" and will be treated the same way.
Chaudhry had said in an earlier tweet that the state would not be threatened at the hands of "groups" and would not continue to do so. According to the minister, as democracy gave everyone the freedom to present their point of view, nobody has the right to blackmail the state by force". "Those who mistreated police and other security institutions will become a lesson for all," he said.
