Disinfo Lab, European non-governmental group has identified 265 fake news outlets which aim to promote content condemning Pakistan. These news outlets plan to manipulate the European Union and the United Nations.
The non-government group found out that these outlets create their anti-Pakistan by copying and pasting articles related to the minorities of Pakistan and India -Related matters from unidentified press agencies.
There were many pieces of evidence of plagiarism as EP Today was using content from Voice of America and Russia Today. Later it was found that EP Today has many Indian stakeholders like NGOs, companies from Srivastava group and think tanks.
The report further added, We also found that the IP address of the Srivastava Group is also home to the obscure online media ‘New Delhi Times’ and the International Institute for Non-Aligned Studies (IINS), which are all based at the same address in New Delhi, India,”
Many other manipulative actions were recorded by the EU DisinfoLab. They found that Times of Geneva also served the lobbying concerns in Geneva towards the UN. This online newspaper was conducting the same practice as EP today covering minority stories published from identified sources. More so it openly criticized Pakistan for its role in Kashmir conflict.
EP today and Times of Geneva had strong ties with many European Organizations for Pakistani Minorities and Pakistani Women Human Rights Organization.
Disinfo Lab has clearly identified that content is supposed to be multiplied. The news was taken to Twitter by DG ISPR Major Asif Ghafoor.
