Ahsan Iqbal, Prominent PML-N Leader Appears Before Court

Ahsan Iqbal presented before the accountability court today in the preceding of the Naowal Sports Corruption case. He was arrested this Monday by NAB.

The case was being invested by NAB since July 2019. The sports complex was built at a cost of Rs3 billion.

The NAB prosecutor briefed the court about the basis of taking Iqbal in the custody and why NAB requires his 14-day remand. NAB also pointed out that the budget of the project was increased without any official approval.

Ahsan Iqbal also questioned in front of media about the corruption of 6 billion in a project worth 2.5 billion.

Ahsan Iqbal has been accused of not following the procedure Development Manual of the Planning Commission. More so, NAB also suspected that if he is not taken in custody, he might leave the country.

The NAB investigation investigated Narowal Sports City and concluded that it was one of the biggest projects in the PML-N tenure.
