China Offers Support To Pakistan For Increasing Halal & Agricultural Exports.

China in order to improve the agriculture collaboration between the two countries, has agreed to provide Pakistan with potato processing and packaging technology.

This decision was announced in the first meeting of China-Pakistan Joint Working Group (JWT) in which the Ministry of National Food and Research of Pakistan and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China participated.  The meeting was headed by Hashim Popalazi, Secretary of National Food Security and Research. There were a number of Pakistani and Chinese researchers, scientists and senior officials in the meeting.

It was reported by an insider that the request for financial support was made by Pakistani officials. This financial support can help in developing smart greenhouse farming and making a place free of foot and mouth disease (FMD) for increasing halal meat exports. The halal meat export market is worth$3 trillion.

Chinese team agreed to provide Pakistan with the necessary technology and funds in processing of flakes flour, potatoes, starch, and modified starch. Animal epidemics was also an important issue discussed in the meeting and concluded that it has to be controlled. More so, it was also discussed that the Pakistan-China agricultural cooperation will invest their energy in increasing the productivity of existing crops of the country.

Pakistani team agreed to arrange joint workshops and seminars with mutual support and exchange of skills between the two countries. It was concluded that Pakistan has a great agriculture potential. Both countries have signed an agreement to follow the suggested proposal compiled in the meeting.
