Empowering Women, PSO Hiring Female Pump Attendants

Despite the fact that women are an important part of our community and we need to start building inclusive and empowered communities, Pakistan needs time to adapt to the changing times. In Pakistan, women are of course considered the weaker sex and cannot take different positions.
However, slowly but surely things are looking out for women. Numerous organizations are becoming aware of the fact that it is impossible to grow without being inclusive of all genders. Hence, to contribute their part, Pakistan State Oil has started hiring female pump attendees at their retail outlets. It is the first time in Pakistan that female pump attendees are being hired. Considering the fact that PSO is a state-owned company, the impact will be even greater.

People appreciated this initiative taken by PSO and agreed that it was the need of the hour.As, ‘women are no less than men’, so why not give them the opportunity to cross over gender barriers and prove themselves in areas which have been male-dominated. Not only will this have a positive economic impact overall, it will also help women become more financially independent.
