The Supreme Court sought particulars related to fake degrees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees.
This case discussed the details about all the losses in PIA. The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Gulzar Ahmed pointed out that pilots with fake degrees are flying planes.
More so, he also pointed out that an unnecessary number of employees are hired for different positions. He said that 700 employees are working on one aircraft in PIA. The attorney general was also directed to review the audit report and help the court sort out the issues in the next hearing.
The verification which was directed previously identified that many top officials had fake degrees since they got the degrees without showing up to universities.
Many employees have been dismissed because of holding fake degrees. These fake degrees holder included 50 cabin crew members and three pilots. This firing was directed by the Supreme Court.
Concerned authorities have been ordered to complete the degree verification process and submit the compiled report. A temporary report has been submitted to the court by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
