The government has allowed the majalis and processions during Muharram to proceed under strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
President Dr Arif Alvi and renowned ulema finalized these SOPs.
Mr.President also acknowledged the efforts of religious scholars for their assistance during Ramazan and Eidul Fitr to halt the spread of the contagion.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noorul Haque Qadri also announced that the government will allow allow majalis and processions during Muharram. However, the formulated SOPs are mandatory to be followed. These SOPs are to be approved by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
