Nepra Approved Another Tariff Hike For Power Distributors
A representative for Nepra said this new rate would come into effect after a notification is given by the Federal government
Nepra gave permission to distribution companies for an expansion of Rs1.62 per unit in its tax to formalize an assortment of about Rs165 billion because of two quarterly changes. This expansion was allowed to all power distribution companies with the exception of K-Electrics.
A representative for Nepra said this new rate would come in effect after a notification is given by the Federal government yet the current consumer end rate will be kept up to a larger extent.
He clarified that the administration was presently charging on a normal about Rs1.56 per unit overcharge from consumers by virtue of five past quarters from July 2018 to September 2019 because of the current capacity and extra capacity expenses owed to numeral reasons like starting new plants and systematic losses which is to expire on 30th of September.

This is going to be replaced by a new average tariff of Rs1.62 per unit for the time period of September 2019 to March 2020.
The bill payers are being deprived of the tariff drop owed to them after the expiry of the surcharge this September.
