Dr. Christian Turner, UK High Commissioner to Pakistan acknowledged the progress of Pakistan after the British Airways and visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He said, showcased the relationship and beauty of Pakistan at a global stage.”
He made this announcement during Pakistan-UK trade potential in the Manchester ceremony.
“In my first month as a High Commissioner I recommended a first significant change in the travel advice to Pakistan since 2015, to allow more Brits to visit Pakistan,” he said.
He further added that such elements will help in improving the image of Pakistan on an international basis.
“I will give an honest advice that this country is open for people to visit,” he further added.
He also highlighted the love of cricket in both countries saying, ” I have had the opportunity to face a few balls from Kumar Sangakkara in,” referring to the recent visit by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to Pakistan.
He also acknowledged the fact that the PTI government is trying to resolve the issues like food crisis and inflation.
“I think we all need to get behind and support their economic growth agenda. The good news is that the UK is one of Pakistan’s top three trade partners. We are the biggest trading partner in Europe and are only behind the US and China” he concluded.
