In order to protect children from coronavirus, Pakistan is manufacturing economical and good quality face shields for children in school.

The company manufacturing is SPEL which has also been granted the European Union CE certification for manufacturing face shields and also export the protective items.

Zia Haider, the designer of the shield told the state-owned news outlet that proper research was carried out to design the shield. In the attempt to make them perfect, medical professionals were consulted and authorities figures were also included to understand the psyche of children.

The shield will be available at Rs 150 so that all children can afford it. This has been done on the request of Muhammad Sarwar, the governor of Punjab.

 “It is made of a transparent PET sheet using indigenous technology and local resources,” the press release added.

While explaining the features of the kit, he said that it is lightweight, makes breathing easy, and is comfortable to wear.

Furthermore, he requested Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood to order all provinces to make the shield mandatory for all school-going children. Schools are most likely to open on September 15.
