Pakistani Singer Arooj Aftab Appears on Obama’s 2021 Summer Playlist.
The former president shared his playlist the last weekend in which Arooj’s featured song “Mohabbat†is also included. Also many other artists like Rihana, Jay-Z, Bob Dylan, and Rolling Stones.

Arooj Aftab is known as "Neo Sufi" singer. She is famous for reimagining traditional South Asian music. Basically, she belongs to Lahore. She completed her studies in music production and engineering from Boston’s Berklee College of Music. Her sound is heavily inspired by classical music such as ghazal. She grew up listening to artists such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and American singer, Jeff Buckley.

Speaking on his Annual Playlist, Obama has written, "With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer. Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately—it's a mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between."
While sharing this news on her Instagram she wrote, "Well this has been wonderful to wake up to! Thank you, Barack Obama."
Arooj was awarded by the Latin Academy of Arts and science for her additional vocals in the best rap song category.
