Pakistani Student Makes it to Forbes “30 under 30 Asia” list

“Bilal Bin Saqib is the founder of Tayaba, a social enterprise that aims to provide solutions to the water crisis in Pakistan. One of its initiatives is the ‘H2O wheel,’ a plastic wheel container connected to a metal bar. This wheel helps to reduce the burden on women and children who carry water in rural Pakistan for miles each day. The wheel can carry up to 40 litres of water, which is eight to 10 times more than what a mud pot (traditionally used to carry water) can hold.” Forbes

Forbes Magazine features Bilal Bin Saqib, a Pakistan born student, and philanthropist in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list.

The reason for his recognition by Forbes is his charitable project in rural Sindh and Balochistan. His social enterprise Tayaba has helped thousands of people gain access to clean water. Talking about the extraordinary achievement, he says,

I am honored that I was able to make Pakistan proud. I have been chosen by Forbes based on helping the water-deprived communities in Pakistan.

More so, in 2016, at the age of 25, Saqib launched his landmark project ‘Tayaba’. The project aims to mainly solve Pakistan’s water crisis. Furthermore, his organization has so far distributed over 5,500 of these H2O Wheels in Sindh. However, over 30,000 women, children, and families from rural areas of Sindh and Balochistan have been benefited.

Moreso, telling about his organization, the 29-year-old entrepreneur reveals the idea originated during his visit to West Africa. There, he saw people pulling clean water in plastic containers attached to steel bars.

“Rural Pakistani women and children have to transport heavy ceramic jugs of water on their heads over several kilometres, which not only causes injuries but also limits the capacity of water they can bring back home,” Bilal bin saqib

Bilal bin Saqib is a Young Pakistani Entrepreneur

Lately, he has started ‘One Million Meals,’ an initiative to provide NHS staff with free, nutritious and delicious meals during their extended duty hours. According to sources, star footballer David Beckham is one of the many celebs to endorse his campaign. He believes that he might not able to save lives but he can provide lifesavers with food. So far, One Million Meals has provided thousands of meals to over 30 hospitals in the UK, with demand from over 70 hospitals.
