The special court awarded death sentence to former president Pervez Musharraf in the high treason case. A three-member bench of the special court, headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth announced its reserved verdict.
Pervez Musharraf has consented to record his statement under section 342 in breach of constitution case against him. However, A counsel of Musharraf submitted a petition in the special court today.
Furthermore, the prosecution wants to add Pervez Musharraf’s facilitators and aides as accused in the case, government prosecutor pleaded.
“A joint trial of all accused is essential. A petition of such nature after three-and-half years indicates ill intention on the part of the government,” the bench remarked.
