Hammad Azhar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, in one of his tweets stated that Pakistan’s exports increased by 12% in the fiscal year 2018-19. He defended the fact by giving the reference source of State Bank of Pakistan. He also indicated an increase in exports in the first quarter of the current year.

Talking about it, the minister said that the government’s better economic policies enabled the country to have this tremendous growth, he said the PTI government planning and policies have started to bearing fruit.
While addressing a press conference on Tuesday he further said “There has been an increase of 137 percent in foreign direct investment (FDI) during the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The fiscal deficit has been reduced by 50 percent in the first three months of the financial year. Primary budget balance noted a surplus of Rs 385 billion, foreign investment of $350 million came to Pakistan, and foreign exchange reserves witnessed an increase of $650 million. The registration of tax filers increased by 55 percent”
