Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari appreciated Saudia Arab for not terminating Pakistanis while talking to Arab News.
Special directives have been issued by the government of the Kingdom of not laying off Pakistani employees and ensuring their three months’ salary as Bukhari confirmed Saudi Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser
“Unlike the UAE, where companies are laying off workers and sending them on forced and unpaid leave, Saudi Arabia is not doing that. Instead, it is giving them a full salary,” he said.
“Dr. Nasser informed me that Saudi Arabia had issued a decree through which Saudi companies will not lay off laborers for the next three months and all employees will continue to receive their full salary during the three-month period. The Kingdom also decided to extend the duration of entry and exit visas for Pakistani workers and Pakistani labor force will enjoy free of cost visa extension until December,” he added.
He also revealed that most of the stranded Pakistanis are in Gulf countries therefore most of the special flights have been scheduled to these countries.
