More so, Mr. Faisal Edhi rejects the claim of media and authorities of an extraordinary spike in ‘death figures’ due to COVID19. However, while talking about the prevailing situation he says there is no significant increase in the death of people in comparison to normal days.

From March 15 to April 2, Edhi Foundation shifted over 400 dead bodies from hospitals and houses in Karachi, Mr. Faisal told Media. Whereas, in the same period last year the foundation records show a shifting of 323 bodies.

Furthermore, Faisal says a section of the media is running sensationalized news that a large number of corpses are picked up from the houses and hospitals. Whereas, the comparison is not clear of how many corpses were transferred from homes to hospitals during normal days. The misinterpretation of the statistics gave a wrong sense that more people have been dying in Karachi because of COVID19.

More so, according to recent statistics, the national tally reaches to 6861 and 1645 with recoveries. However, death toll reaches to 128.
