This MoU was signed by Usman Gul, Airlift Technologies Co-Founder/CEO and Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, Minister of Science and Technology. Airlift issued a statement regarding the signing, ” We are excited to put forth our plan of adding electric vehicles on our fleet, we are also extremely grateful for the support that we have received from all relevant government bodies,”
The startup was able to raise $12 million which is the largest funding in Pakistan for a startup. More so, it is the largest funding in South Asia too.
Pakistan’s federal cabinet has approved the Electric Vehicles (EV) policy in an attempt to control the influence of climate change and offer affordable transportation. The government plans to change the 30% of vehicles into EVs. These vehicles include cars and rickshaws.
