In an attempt to be net carbon neutral by 2040, Amazon has announced its climate-friendly program on Wednesday. This program focusses on selling sustainable products to customers.
There is a new label added to the products that are- 'Climate Pledge Friendly’. 25,000 products that include fashion, health, beauty, household products, and personal electronics.
Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos said, “With 18 external certification programs and our own Compact by Design certification, we’re incentivizing selling partners to create sustainable products that help protect the planet for future generations.”
Amazon, the largest online marketplace and delivers about 10 billion items a year has always been under the radar of environmental activists. Finally, this step will improve their image and they might make the peace with those who are concerned about climate change.

It previously announced the establishment of a Climate Pledge Fund, a $2 billion venture capital fund in June. This investment will be used across the industry.
