Asim Bajwa Finally Steps Down As SAPM

Retired Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa has announced his resignation from the position of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting (SAPM).

On Monday CPEC Chief Authority said via a tweet, “I requested the honorable Prime Minister to relinquish me from the additional portfolio of SAPM on Info & broadcasting. He very kindly approved my request.”

Last month, after allegations on him for having assets beyond means and undeclared assets surfaced, he announced that he will step down from SAPM, however, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected it.

He was accused of keeping the property in his wife's and son's name and owning 99 companies in various countries, 133 pizza joints, and 13 commercial properties.
