Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon, Gilgit Baltistan Governor has announced to confer the civil award to Dr. Osama Riaz, the first doctor in Pakistan to sacrifice his life in fighting the Coronavirus.
The Gigilt Baltistan information was confirmed through a tweet.
Late Riaz was the first doctor who was reported to give up his life while treating people from Coronavirus. He was a member of the 10 member team responsible for screening the patients for Corona especially those coming back from Taftan, Iran. Later he was shifted to treat patients who were kept in isolation.
