Due to the OIC summit, mobile phone service in Islamabad would be suspended for two days
Due to OIC Summit, mobile phone services are suspended and educational institutes in twin cities would remain closed on 20th December.
The meeting of the Council for Foreign Ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference(OIC) would be held in next these three days. The mobile phone service would be unavailable in the red zone during this time.
The gathering is intended for prospecting the circumstances in Afghanistan and foreign ministers from associated countries would sit together and penetrate deeper into the matters.
The assembling of ministers from other countries calls for the much-needed security in the region due to which the mobile phone service would remain blocked until the meeting is held. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority(PTA) has issued directives in this regard.
Also, 20th December is announced as a public holiday to ensure the safety and security of dignitaries, foreign ministers, from multiple Muslim and other countries.
Educational institutes in Rawalpindi would also remain closed on 20th December for proper coordination through twin cities.
