Rs2.08 trillion have been collected by the Federal Board of Revenue. This progress has been recorded in the first half of the current fiscal year (July-December 2019). It was 16% higher than the revenue collected last year which was Rs. 1.79 trillion. A total of extra Rs 301 billion has been collected by the FBR.
The news was released by Syed Shabbir Zaidi, Chairman of the Board through a tweet.
Though the collection was more than the amount collected the last time, still FBR had to go through the deficit of Rs. 118 billion in revenue.
In the second half, the revenue board will have to collect 3.15 trillion since the revenue was revised down by Rs265 billion.
More so, FBR has extended the date of filing the tax returns up to January 31, 2020, for salaried and nonsalaried individuals.
