Amidst the coronavirus outbreak, the United States of America allows Pakistan International Airlines to operate direct flight to US to bring back stranded Pakistanis.
Last week, the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik wrote a letter seeking permission to operate PIA special flights to repatriate Pakistanis stranded in the US. However the letter was addressed to the US ambassador and the State Department.
Reportedly, in response to that letter the US transport department granted permission to PIA to operate 12 in a month to bring back the stranded Pakistanis.
Noticeably, the permission was granted to Pakistan by the US after improvement in the security situation says PIA spokesperson.
Furthermore, CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Ministry and Aviation Ministry for taking the issue with the US.
