Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance has revealed yesterday that fuel prices will go cheaper from May 01.
A special coronavirus budget will be announced for the fiscal year in the first week of June.
“We will be exempting the small traders from payment of three month electricity dues,” he said highlighting that government is already distributing money to 12 million people affected by coronavirus lockdown.
“We will be announcing support for the four million people who got unemployed due to coronavirus,” he added.
4 Million People Unemployed Because Of Coronavirus
The budget of military has also been compromised because of the financial situation right now and more financial constraints are to be expected.
He also noticed that the exports have declined because of coronavirus. Therefore, a think tank meeting was held where most of the members focused on monetary reforms, banking and financial affairs and small and medium enterprises (SME) sector.
