India appears to fail in landing the robotic spacecraft Chandrayaan-2

Chandrayaan-2 was 2.1 km away from the surface of the moon when the communication was lost between Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the moon lander. An investment of Rs. 9.78 billion was made on the launch of the spacecraft.

In the beginning, the descent went smoothly. According to ISRO statement that the Lander was just less than two miles away from the moon surface when there was no communication between ISRO and spacecraft. The statement further added that the problems which lead to the failure in the landing are under observation.

It seems that India has to wait before getting itself listed as nations which have landed on moon.
