Indian pilots Abhinandan’s statue has been displayed in Karachi at the PAF Museum. His plane was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) over Indian- occupied Kashmir. This action has been a hot topic for the India media which is furious over the statue.
The Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is a life sized statue which has the smallest details like his signature mustache. His plane was shot down over the disputed Himalayan region when India and Pakistan were on the verge of a new war in February.
The capture was followed by Pakistan military releasing video with Indian Flying Commander drinking tea and acknowledging that the tea was “fantastic”. He was later released by Pakistan as a peace gesture.
There is a picture gallery which has every scene captured from plane shot down to him being handed back to India at the Wagah Border.
This museum is a part of the recreational park in Karachi where most of the visitors are young. Many young people have enjoyed the decommissioned aircraft and other military hardware.
