Locust Swarms To Be More Dangerous Than Coronavirus

Sindh Government has decided to go on a protest since they are not getting any support from the Federal Government over the locust swarm issues.

Ismail Rahoo, Sindh Minister for Agriculture, told that the locust swarms have entered from India and Iran and can be ‘more dangerous than coronavirus’.

The provincial government has been informing the Center about the issue but all have been vain according to Rahoo. If locust is not eradicated from the country, 60% of the population that depends on agriculture can go to the hunger crisis.

The provincial government cautioned that a new swarm of locusts will enter Sindh from Iran on May 15. In this regard, a special meeting was held by Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah.

The meeting revealed that 60 countries have been attacked by locusts. The government has formed 30 camps and made 57 teams in which there are 180 people.

Sindh Agriculture Department and Plant Protection Department officials are a part of these teams.
