The government is planning to resume the metro bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad which has been closed down for more than 100 days now. The operations are expected to start from next week only if the standard operation procedures (SOPs) are adapted according to the service.
Metro Bus Authority (MBA) officials have revealed that this service is significant since it is used by millions to commute between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The service was however stopped because of the spread of coronavirus.

This has caused issues for many commuters who have to travel between the two cities. Many government offices remained open even in the lockdown which created chaos among many. So far, the MBA has suffered a loss of Rs 360 million because of long closure.
